“Not every sherry is touched by angels.” The name Angel’s Sherry for the Glenfiddich 12 Year Old comes from a unique maturation process. Traditionally, sherry is aged under a layer of flor yeast. However, when this layer unexpectedly breaks, it triggers a second stage of aging—producing what is known as Amontillado sherry. This rare and beautiful transformation is likened to an angel stealing a sip, inspiring Glenfiddich to use only the top 5% of these rare sherry casks to craft this exceptional whisky, thus earning its heavenly name.
