However, when this layer unexpectedly breaks, it triggers a second stage of aging—producing what is known as Amontillado sherry. This rare and beautiful transformation is likened to an angel stealing a sip, inspiring Glenfiddich to use only the top 5% of these rare sherry casks to craft this exceptional whisky, thus earning its heavenly name.
